** Please participate in my poem to my girlfriend from Across the Atlantic!!!!***

Hello,

My girlfriend lives in Madrid, and I in Brooklyn. I am creating a TransAtlantic Poem/ Public Art Installation entitled " From Brooklyn, With Love" to address the 5,000 km between she and I, in an intimate and global context. While this seems paradoxical, groups and websites like these are excellent examples of how the planet has shrunk, and this installation is both a creative feat, as well as a testament to the power of technology to connect and facilitate intimate human contact.

While some note that technology often functions as a dehumanising vehicle, this installation utilizes human power and ingenuity as a parallel to technology to deliver a simple message of Love, to one recipient: my girlfriend Isabel.

Isabel has no knowledge of the installation. A series of 8.5"x11" posters will be posted in and around her neighborhood in Madrid and near her parent's home and place of work in Alicante. The advertisements are in fact pieces of the poem I am dictating to her through you, which grow increasingly specific. The specificity moves closer and closer to her until it culminates with the final advertisement, bearing her name, posted at the airport in Madrid on the day she leaves to visit me in NY.
